DESCRIPTION:June 8th! Set your calendars and REGISTER TODAY! \nJoin Manor Community Day & 5K on June 8th from 9:00am – 1:00pm. Participants will be able to walk or run a 5K course and enjoy a variety of healthy snacks and refreshments upon completing the event. BMHC will be providing access to free health screenings\, as well as other free health resources from local organizations. This event is a great way for low-income families to get active\, learn about healthy living\, and make positive changes in their lives! \nThey are waiving registration fees for anyone who presents their MAP (Medical Access Program) cards! On-site registration only. \nParticipants will receive: \n\nManor 5K shirt\nBib\nFinisher Medal\n\nOn-site and same-day registration will not have guaranteed shirts or finisher medals! So make sure to register in advance. \nAll are welcome to participate\, whether as a walker\, runner\, or cheerleader. In our mission to provide access to and awareness of healthcare services to underserved populations\, health equity is paramount. \nCommunicating with our Spanish speaking clients is important and having staff who are bilingual and/or participate in programs that improve their understanding of the Spanish language\, especially in the healthcare setting\, helps minimize cultural gaps and promotes equitable care for BMHC clients. \nWe want to announce an opportunity for individuals and organizations to participate in a Spanish for Healthcare Professionals Series\, hosted by the National Association of Hispanic Nurses (NAHN). SUMMARY:2nd Annual TAHJ Brooks Football Camp
DESCRIPTION:Black Men’s Health Clinic® (BMHC) is intentional about reaching men of color where they live\, work\, and play\, and that includes up-and-coming young men. \nBMHC is going to playground at the 2nd Annual TAHJ Brooks Football Camp for youth\, grades 3rd through 12th. We will be onsite to provide blood pressure screenings\, schedule doctor’s appointments\, and share health and other useful resources. Any parents or participants that get a blood pressure check will receive a $25.00 BMHC HealthyCuts™ voucher that is redeemable at the Lasting Affects Barber Shop\, aka The LAB.  \nHosted indoors at the brand new facility in Manor\, 150 kids will get the opportunity to camp with Texas Tech running back Tahj Brooks! \nEach athlete will receive a camp shirt and sling backpack containing Gatorade and a snack. All participants will be able to download media of combined drills\, from the camp\, via DropBox. Athletes may save these media files as a keepsake or for their own use. \nThe athletes will have an opportunity to meet and work out alongside Tahj!
