Shechem Sauls is a dedicated advocate for community health and health equity in Central Texas. Originally from Austin, Shechem began his career in fuel management before finding his true calling in public health and wellness. After earning his degree at Texas State University, Shechem held impactful roles with United Way and the Austin Independent School District, where he managed the school mental health center program and supported over 1,300 students, staff, and families annually.
Motivated by the challenges of the pandemic, Shechem pursued and completed a Master’s in Health Science from the University of Texas at Tyler, equipping himself for advanced leadership in community health. He most recently served as the Community Health Worker Program Manager, leading initiatives advancing health equity and accessible care for underserved populations. Previously, Shechem was the Area Health Education Center Manager at CommunityCare, building impactful partnerships and expanding resources for rural and urban communities.
Shechem’s leadership is shaped by a commitment to collaboration, community engagement, and holistic support. He holds two health education certifications from the Texas Department of Health and Human Services and is recognized for designing programs that improve lives through accessible healthcare, trauma-informed approaches, and community-driven solutions.
