Edwin Cummings

Research and Clinical Trials

Mr. Cummings is a dedicated healthcare professional with over 20 years of experience in healthcare research and clinical trials with a focus on bringing new and innovative therapies to patients to improve their health outcomes and enhance their daily lives. This is accomplished by having a thorough understanding of the entire process obtained by serving in roles of progressive responsibility from the molecule identification (bench science) level, through the translational research process, and ultimately at the human clinical trial level in both the academic and commercial settings with an emphasis in oncology.

Currently, Mr. Cummings successfully leads global cross-functional clinical teams in the execution of all aspects of clinical trials to ensure patient safety and data integrity to satisfy the regulatory requirements of governing agencies across the globe. This success is evidenced by leading multiple clinical trials that have brought new therapies to the healthcare landscape that have been significant improvements over what was currently available to patients over the last eight years. The mission of the Black Men’s Health Clinic in lowering barriers to successful healthcare for this under-served community is one that resonates with Mr. Cummings as a clinical research professional that has first-hand knowledge of the difficulty encountered with having minority representation in clinical research trails that is an extension of the more basic healthcare access issue. It is considered a privilege to assist in this great endeavor in a significant manner.

Mr. Cummings currently resides with his wife, Kawaii, in Austin TX.
