Board Member
Michael N. Weaver, Jr. is native of Kansas City, MO by way of St. Louis, MO. Weaver is the first in his immediate family to graduate from a 4-year university, attend an historically Black university, and obtain a graduate degree. Michael earned his Bachelor of Arts degree in Music Performance from Kentucky’s preeminent HBCU, Kentucky State University. Following, he earned his Master of Science in Educational Leadership and Policy Analysis from The University of Wisconsin-Madison and plans to pursue a doctoral degree in the near future.
Weaver has long had a passion for education and leadership stemming back to his undergraduate tenure where he served as Student Government President, sat on the Kentucky State University Board of Regents, was selected as an HBCU White House Competitiveness Scholar, and served on the International Board of Directors for Kappa Alpha Psi Fraternity, Incorporated. Since then, Weaver has gained experience in a plethora of areas as an university instructor, community engagement advocate and specialist, project manager, diversity, equity, and inclusion advisor, and philanthropic advisor.
Moreover, Michael is an entrepreneur and is the Founder and CEO of DreamWeaver Motivation, a company that provides motivational speaking, consulting, and life coaching. Weaver has served as a keynote speaker for over 500+ programs and events for graduations, conferences, churches, and corporate events. He also consults institutions and organizations on how to increase giving and participation from Donors of Color.
Present day, Weaver serves as the Associate Director of Donor and External Relations for the Black Studies Collective at The University of Texas-Austin. He is also the online campus minister for Growth Point Church in Lexington, KY. Michael aspires everyday to make an impact in the lives of others through service, education, and philanthropy. He could achieve none of this without his amazing support system: his wife, son, and amazing family, friends, and mentors.
