‘What’s the Soul in Our Food’ – BMHC x Sustainable Food Center
May 8 @ 6:00 pm - 7:30 pm
The Black Men’s Health Clinic is excited to announce a co-branded food education series called, ‘What’s the Soul in Our Food,’ in partnership with Sustainable Food Center (SFC).
As part of Sustainable Food’s Happy Kitchen series, their proprietary class will be a six-week-long class series focusing on African American culture through food as well as general health awareness. BMHC is excited to be a part of this innovative approach to reach the people we serve through the healthy nutrition and our rich culture.
These Sustainable Food classes will focus on nutrition education and a cooking demo provided by Sustainable Food Center.
Benefits from the class include:
– Honoring Cultural Traditions: Stay rooted in your cultural traditions with familiar and nutritious ingredients and recipes.
– Learn about the history of African American foodways
– Weekly Recipe Demonstrations: Watch and learn as professionals from Sustainable Food Center demonstrate recipes focusing on a balanced diet
– Groceries to Take Home: Practice weekly recipes at home with the groceries SFC provides to remember the skills you learn in class
Classes are FREE and open to the public!
Participants must register for the entire 6-week class series.
Limited spots are available. There is limited parking—carpooling is recommended.
