Dr. Nyasia M. Belfrom serves as a Director in the healthcare and mental health field, specializing in behavioral health services for adolescents and teens with behavioral health challenges and intellectual and developmental disabilities who often do not meet traditional admission criteria at other psychiatric facilities. She has extensive expertise in forensic jail diversion, crisis intervention, and suicide prevention, with a strong focus on empowering individuals to improve their quality of life—mentally, emotionally, and physically. Dr. Belfrom is committed to helping individuals rehabilitate, restore their lives, and connect to essential resources such as housing, counseling, and medical care.
Academically, Dr. Belfrom holds a Ph.D. in Forensic Psychology and a Master of Science in Psychology from Walden University. She also earned a Bachelor of Science in Criminal Justice from Texas A&M University and is currently obtaining licensure in Clinical Counseling to further expand her impact in the behavioral health field.
The daughter of an Army servicemember, Dr. Belfrom grew up as a military child and was exposed to diverse cultures, environments, and communities around the world. This upbringing instilled in her a deep appreciation for diversity, resilience, and service—values that continue to shape her professional and personal life.
Beyond her professional career, Dr. Belfrom devotes much of her time to faith-based and community initiatives. She is actively involved in her church, where she supports individuals with criminal justice involvement, and she dedicates herself to community service through her membership in Alpha Kappa Alpha Sorority, Incorporated. Additionally, she is a financially active member of the NAACP, where she advocates for equity, social justice, and access to essential resources for underserved communities.
