Bio for Rodney L. Sigler
Rodney Sigler, a military veteran, is a collaborative & transformational ‘bilingual’ business human resource leader known for innovation, problem-solving, leader development, and employee advocacy. Over his 23-year career in HR, notable accomplishments have come from his work in agile culture building, strategic systems advising, policy development, and process improvement.
In addition to having served as HR Director at the Texas Board of Pardons & Paroles, HR Program Manager at National Instruments, HR Director at Texas Juvenile Justice Department, HR Consultant at the City of Austin, and HR Manager-Supervisor at Ascension Seton from his extensive professional work history; Rodney currently freelances as a Senior HR Advisor (Consultant & Contractor).
His experience spans from leading the programs of Inclusion Resource Groups for mission-aligned strategies to Global Employee Resource Groups. Being the lead advisor for state leaders on critical legal, employment action-law, compliance, and conflict management issues. Establishing human capital strategies for strong performance-oriented footprints and comprehensive talent acquisition & inclusion strategies.
Rodney’s military service over 8 years was as a medic (Gulf War), medical specialist (Orthopedics / Pediatrics / ER), personnel specialist (Reserves), and Infantry soldier (National Guard); resulting in various awards and recognitions like the Combat Medical Badge, 2x Army Commendation Medal (hospital clinical skills and Desert Shield/Storm medic service in Saudia Arabia/Iraq), Army Achievement Medals, Kuwait Liberation Medal, and Southwest Asia Service Medal w/3 Bronze Service Stars (1-5 Cav & 18th Airborne Corps).
Outside of HR, this Philadelphia native and man of faith served Texas communities as a certified University Interscholastic League (UIL) youth sports official, as a national Violin Society of America (VSA) Gold Medal recipient for creative music in support of disabled veterans, and representing Austin as a medical specialist and nurse extern (while preparing for and attending nursing school).
Rodney holds a Bachelor’s in Communications (Nursing minor), a Master’s in Human Resource Management, and certification in Veterans at Work, Intercultural Development, Process Improvement, Employment Law, Professional in Human Resources, and Senior Human Resource Professional.
